The Municipality of Guimba, Nueva Ecija joined hands with the Institute for Climate Change and Environmental Management (ICCEM) for the formulation of the Local Climate Change Action Plan on August 31, 2023. Mr. Homer Santiago, MDRRMO and Mr. Edmark Bulaong, ICCEM Faculty, spearheaded the collaboration.
The Municipality of Guimba, Nueva Ecija, has taken a significant step towards climate resilience. This exciting collaboration aims to empower the local community in addressing the challenges posed by climate change.
Recognizing the urgent need to develop strategies that safeguard the Municipality of Guimba’s environment and community against the impacts of climate change, the municipal government has initiated this groundbreaking partnership. ICCEM, renowned for its expertise in climate and environmental studies, will lead a comprehensive training workshop on the formulation of the Local Climate Change Action Plan (LCCAP).
The workshop aimed to start in October 2023, will serve as a vital platform for Guimba’s local stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and concerned citizens, to acquire essential knowledge and skills in climate change adaptation and mitigation. Participants will engage in in-depth discussions, hands-on exercises, and practical case studies designed to empower them to design and implement effective climate resilience measures.
