Ms. Kathrina M. Villar, Science Research Assistant of the Institute for Climate Change and Environmental Management and Dr. Judith Teaño, Faculty of the College of Business Administration and Accountancy represent the Central Luzon State University as they joined the 3-day Training Workshop on Economic Valuation held on September 13-15, 2023 at Obdulia F. Sison Hall, University of the Philippines, Los Baños.
 
The Training Workshop on Economic Valuation of Environment, Natural Resource, and Ecosystem Services was organized by the VALUES Lab Team, sponsored by the University of the Philippines, Los Baños and DOST-PCAARRD. It features a variety of activities which include the application of valuation to policy and decision-making, market-based approaches and applications, revealed & stated preference approaches and applications, cost of illness valuation, travel cost method, hedonic pricing, and contingent valuation method.
 
The primary goal of the training was to enhance participants’ understanding of the economic valuation of the ecosystem services for sustainable forest and natural resources management. The participants were divided into four groups, each group served the purpose of the workshop by a presentation of their outputs.
