ICCEM

In response to the mandate of the University to encourage Faculty members to be involved and engaged in research activities implemented in the different R&D Centers, The Institute for Climate Change and Environmental Management (ICCEM) hosted proposal writing workshop at ICCEM’s Climate Change Center Amphitheater and Training Room on July 4, 2023 to July 5, 2023.
A total of 20 faculty members from the Colleges of Science, Engineering, Arts and Social Sciences, Home Science and Industry and Business Administration and Accountancy who expressed their research interest in working with ICCEM participated in this two-day writeshop activity, with an objective of conducting research to be aligned with the research agenda of ICCEM and strengthening & enhancing collaboration in developing research proposal for possible funding.
Dr. Shirly C. Serrano, ICCEM’s Sub-unit head for Research, led the writeshop activity in which she presented the mission, vision of ICCEM also the research agenda of the institution. She also shared her knowledge on the importance of research to an academic institution.
Dr. Gella Patria L. Abella, ICCEM Head, shared her experiences in producing feasible research proposals that meet the needs of the community.
Furthermore, Ms. Johanna J. De Dios, faculty of College of Science, explained the detailed breakdown of a research project, and she imparted her skills in the preparation of a Line-Item Budget.
The participants were divided into four groups, each group served the purpose of the writeshop by a presentation for possible improvement.
Four proposals were crafted and ready for submission for institutional funding support. Further, one proposal was drafted, and once finalized it will be submitted to DA-BAR for funding support.
