Engr. Lea S. Caguiat from the Institute for Climate Change and Environmental Management (ICCEM) shared her insights on Climate Agriculture during the Good Neighbors Annual Workshop 2023 held on February 9, 2023 at Timberland Highland Resort, San Mateo, Rizal.
With the theme: Empowering Communities Through Inclusive and Innovative Development, Engr Caguiat discussed an overview of climate change, global and local evidence of climate change, and causes of climate change. The presentation highlighted the effects of climate change on Philippine agriculture and the ways to combat climate change through mitigation and adaptation. The talk also includes Central Luzon State University’s climate action initiatives that may promote partnerships.
Good Neighbors International Philippines (GNIP) is an international humanitarian development NGO founded in Korea in 1991. It is one of the largest NGO aids in Korea and currently operates in 43 countries, including the Philippines. To make the world a place without malnutrition, and food insecurity, where people live together in harmony, Good Neighbors work in 43 countries with focus on community development to protect children’s rights and encourage the self-reliance of vulnerable communities. GNIP works for youth, children and communities nationwide through social development, economic development, and sponsorship service.
Their community Development Project (CDP) areas are in Bulacan, Batangas, Rizal, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Eastern Samar, and Davao De Oro.
