HAPPENING NOW I ICCEM Participates in Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) Project Workshop

Dr. Shirly C. Serrano, CLSU Permanent Representative, and Mr. Daryl Alvaran Juganas, Alternate Representative to the ABS Project, are currently participating in the Presentation of the Release Version and Pilot Launching of the Philippines ABS Functional Mechanism/ABS Clearing House Mechanism, taking place from January 29-30, 2025, at Summit Ridge Hotel in Tagaytay City, Cavite.

 

This workshop aims to present feedback and comments from the Alpha and Beta version, unveil the official version of the approved platform and system process flow, discuss the web platform, client relations management, and review the draft procedural manual for the ABS Clearing House Mechanism. This clearing house mechanism is expected to evolve into policy, facilitating easier applications for Gratuitous Permits (GP) and Bioprospecting Undertakings (BU), as well as incorporating other important features such as a database of research projects, a pool of experts, and permit renewal processes.
