The Institute for Climate Change and Environmental Management (ICCEM) in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Anda, Pangasinan conducted a clean-up drive at the Tondol Beach, Anda, Pangasinan on June 29, 2023.
The activity was led by Dr. Gella Patria L. Abella, Head of ICCEM, and Mr. Daryll Justin Z. Celeste, Tourism Officer III, Anda Pangasinan.
“The result of this activity will benefit us all as natural resources are connected. The positive benefit of this initiative in Anda, Pangasinan will reflect in the entire Philippines”, Dr. Abella said in her welcome remarks.
ICCEM faculty members, staff, and student interns were able to collect numerous bags of plastic wastes along Tondol Beach.
The clean-up drive is in celebration of the Philippine Environment Month this June. It aims to promote waste reduction and environmental awareness on the growing garbage problems in tourist areas.
