With the objective of empowering the local community in addressing the challenges posed by climate change, Central Luzon State University (CLSU) through the Institute for Climate Change and Environmental Management (ICCEM) holds a ceremonial signing for a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Local Government Unit of Guimba, Nueva Ecija, held at the ICCEM Training Room today, September 27, 2023.
The activity was attended by Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Representing Dr. Edgar A. Orden, CLSU President, Mr. Sherwin Jonathan Guiuo, Municipal Information Officer, Representing Hon. Jesulito Galapon, Mayor of Guimba, Dr. Gella Patria L. Abella, ICCEM Head, Mr. Homer C. Santiago, Head of Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Gideon Pascua, MENRO, Mr. Edmark P. Bulaong, Project Leader, Dr. Shirly C. Serrano, ICCEM Sub-Unit Head for Research and Mr. Roberto D. Pelayo, ICCEM Sub-unit Head for Extension Education.
The MOA signing is being forged to formalize the partnership between the Institute and the Municipality of Guimba for the comprehensive training workshop on the formulation of the Local Climate Change Action Plan (LCCAP). The training workshop will commence on October 02, 2023 and will serve as a vital platform for Guimba’s local stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and concerned citizens, to acquire essential knowledge and skills in climate change adaptation and mitigation.
