LOOK | ICCEM as Resource Persons in the Training on Biodiversity Assessment in Region III

Dr. Shirly C. Serrano and Mr. Daryl A. Juganas, served as resource persons in the Training on Biodiversity Assessment in Region III held last April 24-46, 2024 at Venieza Hotel, SBMA, Olongapo, Zambales. This event was organized by the Access and Benefit Sharing of Genetic Resources and Associated Traditional Knowledge in the Philippines Project implemented by the GEF, UNDP and DENR-BMB.

 

Their expertise on tools and techniques used in biodiversity assessment and community resource mapping, focusing on methods of photo documentation and use of field diary, capacitated the LGUs and Indigenous People as citizen science in community resource monitoring.

 

In addition, Mr. Paul Henric Gojo Cruz, from the Department of Biological Sciences, College of Science shared valuable insights on survey methods and specimen preservations. While Mr. Darwin Ganado, Environmental Specialist II of DENR-PENRO Bataan, discussed about essential strategies on focus group discussions.
